Challenge

An international public health management consultancy was struggling to track its projects and spending accurately. Using Excel spreadsheets and emails to enter data manually was a painstaking process wrought with human error. Project delays and budget overruns were quite common. A lack of cohesion led to inconsistent reporting practices. They wanted to build a high-tech solution that would make budget management an easy task for their 1,000 employees. They, however, needed custom business budgeting software tailored to their unique business processes.

Our tasks:

• Provide a business analyst to elicit requirements for the client’s business budgeting software.
• Design architecture and build the front end and back end.
• Implement a robust strategy for roles and permissions management.
• Integrate the business budgeting software with 3rd-party tools.

Solution

A powerful yet simple to use web-based business budgeting application with a comprehensive set of features that has automated and consolidated budgeting processes across the organization. The solution combines the following functionality: Project management functionality that allows project managers to set up/update projects, assign them to employees, allocate budgets based on in-built questionnaires, attach documents, and customize billing settings.It also allows them to track actual vs. budgeted expenses and run a “what-if” analysis. On the project staff-side, this module shows employees a list of assigned projects, including timelines, status, and actions that can be performed on the project.
